BRING DAS VELO NACH HAUSE

«AN HOUR ON EARTH»
A theatrical documentary
about the end of the world

Everything can happen during an HOUR ON EARTH, everything is possible.
A kiss
The end of a couple
The launch test of a missile in North Korea
The arrival to a new country of a traveller
The extinction of an old man’s heart in a motel room
The birth of a child
The dissolution of a nation
The discovery of a new vaccine
The end of the world
The premiere of a theatre performance.

AN HOUR ON EARTH operates around the borders of reality and fiction. Six performers confront different visions of a singular event in an attempt to create a collective testimony. Their goal is to reconstruct the circumstances that provoked the end of the world and the complete extinction of mankind.

Using diverse strategies the 6 performers collaborate, ambush and disrupt each other as they struggle to achieve the epic task of staging a phenomenon they do not understand.

The result is a comical, contradictory and interpellant THEATRICAL DOCUMENTARY filled with calumnies; apocryphal memories; noisy digressions; frenetic fights for the spotlight; electronic loops and drum solos; broken dances; re-starts; confessions made out loud.

With this piece the ROTES VELO continues to inquiry and question the construction of identity; exploring the way we live, breath, fear, tell stories, subvert the established order and strive to be together.
